Dr. Afsaneh (Amy) Ighani Afsaneh (Amy) Ighani , M.D. was reared in Lubbock, TX and received her medical training at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed her residency at Scott & White Hospital in Temple and began practice in 1999 at Baylor Medical Center at Garland.

"I strive to provide high quality patient care to each patient. I have special interest in women's healthcare and preventive care. I hope to motivate individuals to take control of their health by modifying their lifestyle and habits," said Dr. Ighani.

Dr. Ighani grew up in an environment in which medicine was a focal point for the entire family. Her father is a retired dentist and her mother a nurse. She has two brothers, one an anesthesiologist and the other an ophthalmology resident.

In her spare time, Dr. Ighani enjoys reading, attending theatrical productions, cooking and playing volleyball.
